With a scale of 1 inch equals 1 foot, this is a side and plan colour print of the 1957 Le Mans-winning D-Type driven by Ron Flockhart and Ivor Bueb. Framed photograph of Gulf Racing chassis number 002 at the Esses with the fairground in the background. Close-up of chassis 488, the 7.0-litre Silk Cut Jaguar XJR-9 # 2 driven to victory by Andy Wallace/Jan Lammers/Johnny Dumfries, closely followed by #18 Porsche 962 of Bob Wollek/Sarel van der Merwe/Vern Schuppan. The cars were running 1st and 2nd in the early hours of Sunday morning before the Porsche retired after leading for half the race. At 3:00pm on Sunday Jan Lammers brought the car home after covering 394 laps and 3313.15 miles (only bettered twice since) at an average of 137.72mph and bringing a barren period of 31 years to a glorious end. The 171/2 in x 21/2 in picture has the super-imposed signatures of all three winning drivers. The car is now on display at the JDHT collection, Gaydon and is currently on display.
