Register - Isle of Man Tour
Join the Mk VII, VIII, IX Register for a
wonderful five-night tour to the Isle of Man, based at
the luxurious Ramsey Park Hotel.
Final details have yet to be finalised, but here is a flavour of the tour, which should
prove irresistible to anyone who fancies following the routes of the TT races.
Sunday 4 July Meet at the restored Art Deco Midland Hotel, Morecambe,
where Hercule Poirot and Hastings stayed in Double Sin
Monday 5 July Breakfast and a morning to explore Morecambe and the statue of
its most famous son, Eric; 2:15pm ferry from Heysham to Douglas (Premium Lounge)
Tuesday 6 July 37-mile tour of the mountain road race course, visiting the Motor and
Transport Museums at Jurby; optional lunch stop; on to Point of Ayre and lighthouses
Wednesday 7 July Interesting route taking in Peel and Castletown, and
possible visits to the old House of Parliament, kipper smoking, the House of
Mannan, Cregneash village and the famous Sound Café
Thursday 8 July East via Maughold Head for journey on the Snaefell mountain
railway; visit the Laxey Wheel; the Douglas electric railway in a Victorian tram;
return via Creg ny Baa back road and Sulby Glen and its reservoir
Friday 9 July Drive to Douglas via the coast road and Groundle Glen;
possible visits to the Manx Museum, Camera Obscura and Gaiety Theatre and/
or ride in a horse-drawn tram; board the 3:00pm ferry for Liverpool
