Area 62 - Yorkshire Coast - Fish and Chips Run - Scarborough to Filey

31st January 2026

Drive your Jaguar and enjoy some of the best fish and chips in North Yorkshire

This will be Area 62's first outing of 2026 taking in some of the best parts of the North Yorkshire coast, a historic hill climb venue and some of the best fish and chips in North Yorkshire.

The meeting point will be The Spital Inn & Camp site in Staxton at 10.30am for tea/coffee,  setting off on the road run from 11.30am.

The run will head for Filey for the fish and chips lunch at Inghams Fish Restaurant.

After some of Filey's finest fish and chips the run will set off again for Scarborough for a drive along the seafront taking in both the north and south bays, Scarborough mere and then on to Oliver's Mount circuit.

For those of you who don't know the history of either Scarborough or the English Civil War, Oliver Cromwell stationed his Parliamentary troops and cannon at the top of this hill and bombarded the castle, occupied by King Charles' Royalist army.  Hence Scarborough now having Oliver's Mount and a ruined castle.  The run will be stopping at the viewing point at the top of Oliver's Mount, which includes a war memorial, with outstanding views over the North & South bays, an excellent position for cannon to fire, but more importantly for us an excellent Café called 'Oliver's on the Mount'.
