D-DAY REMEMBERED

July 2024 | Issue 768 | Page(s) 40 - 41 | Tony Merrygold

One of Tony Merrygold’s reasons for retiring was to have time to drive his own cars rather than the JDHT’s and to mark a very special anniversary…

Since stepping down as Vehicle Collection Manager at the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, my wife Elaine and I have already completed two car tours – one around the Sussex Downs and the other a more adventurous D-Day Tour to northern France to celebrate the 80th anniversary of this momentous event. The tour was organised by the Euroclassic Touring Club so it wasn’t all Jaguars, but our E-Type was in good company with a Mk IX, an XK140 and a modern XK8 (X100).
