OUT & ABOUT - JDC NORTHUMBERLAND TOUR

September 2024 | Issue 770 | Page(s) 48 - 49 | Roger Kemp

When I asked last year where people would like to go for the 2024 JDC Midsummer Tour, Northumberland topped the list. It seems that this remote corner of North-East England is an area not many people have visited and I must confess that much as I have passed through the region many times on my way to Scotland, I have only stopped once, for a brief stay, in this quiet part of the country.

By coincidence, at the same time I was making plans for the trip, a chap from McDonalds’ Hotels ’phoned me to ask if the JDC would be interested in using their hotels, one of which was in Northumberland. Linden Hall is something of a stately pile at the end of a long drive, a few miles north of Morpeth, and it seems we made wise choices all round because Northumberland is a beautiful county and the hotel was mostly good, too.
