In the second of our two-part interview, former Jaguar designer Keith Helfet tells Paul Walton what it was like to work for Tom Walkinshaw and how a chance meeting led him to create not one, but two sports car concepts
It’s December 2002 and after taking the tough decision to leave Jaguar, Keith Helfet is cleaning out his office in the studio. “It was the last Friday before Christmas and everyone else had finished at lunchtime but I was still there until late in the evening shredding paper,” Keith says. “I’d already received permission to take my memorabilia home and it took me till 7:00pm to load everything into my car, then I drove out of the gates for the final time.”
