We live in a technological society. From the morning alarm clock onwards, we can’t do much without the involvement of some bit of technology. Technology evolved at one time in much the same way as life did, by trial and error. Some changes were found to be better and were adopted. The growth of science altered that. With an understanding of how things work, the trial and error was leapfrogged and technology could and did evolve faster.
