I returned to the UK recently in my X-Type V6 Sovereign AWD, a car that now has 66,250 miles on the clock and, some might say, just about run in. The trip did not start well, with an hour-and-a-half’s traffic hold-up at the Italian side of the Fréjus tunnel, just 10 miles from the start of my journey. This was thanks to the Mont Blanc tunnel being shut – again – for three months (till 12 December if anyone is interested) for (more) maintenance.
