POWER AND PERFORMANCE

When it comes to modern-classic Jaguars with a performance twist, the supercharged S-Type R takes some beating thanks to its combination of outright power and brutish good looks. In a recent timed auction by Iconic Auctioneers (www.iconicauctioneers.com), this Midnight Pearl Metallic example looked particularly tempting at its sale price of £7875.

Described as being ‘very well-presented’, this Japanese import had covered just 58,000 miles and was being offered with a service history. The car was also said to be ‘totally corrosion free’ thanks to being a recent arrival in this country, albeit now registered and ready to use. Another stand-out feature was the black-and-yellow leather interior, giving the car even more of a sporting look.

With 400bhp on tap, the supercharged R was the ultimate machine for power-hungry S-Type fans, and a rust-free survivor should always be in demand. It was good to see this one finding a new home at auction.
