The winner of the Jaguar Drivers’ Club Champion of Champions for 2024 has been crowned with the prestigious award going to Richard Arnold, the proud owner of the 2010 Jaguar XKR 75 that was once part of the James Hull collection.

Five very special examples were competing for the top honour and the result was announced at the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust’s ‘Jaguars at Gaydon’ held at the British Motor Museum on Sunday 22 September.

Thrilled to have been crowned as this year’s Champion, and presented with the award by JDC President, Sir John Egan, Richard said: “I’ve never entered before, and certainly never expected to win, so it hasn’t really sunk in yet. I’ve always had a love for classic cars, and Jaguars in particular, but to finish ahead of the other amazing cars that were competing was a very special moment. I hope that it will encourage more owners of younger Jaguars to enter in the future.”

The finalists comprised of a 1950 Mk V DHC owned by Nigel Bowen-Easley, 1950 XK120 roadster of Tim de la Fosse, James Tetherton’s 1996 XJS Celebration Convertible and a 2006 XJR saloon owned by Andy Brooks.

Gareth Jones, the Jaguar Drivers' Club’s Director of Concours added: “The 2024 Champion of Champions competition was one of the closest for many years. Until the winner was announced nobody could have guessed which car had won.”

Another important award presented on the day was the Endeavour Trophy which goes to the owner that has undertaken all of the work on the car that they possibly could but not quite accumulated enough points from the judges for an overall win. For 2024 the trophy went to Tim de la Fosse, and it was very well-deserved.

Without doubt the world’s most prestigious Jaguar concours competition, the Champion of Champions has been taking place for 47 years, and this year’s winner is the latest in a long line of illustrious cars to take the title.

Of the nineteen cars entered at the Club’s National Day back in July the five chosen to go through to the final represented the cream of the crop, and as well as being awarded the coveted trophy Richard’s car will also be displayed at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show at the NEC, Birmingham from 8-10 November.
