The Jaguar Drivers’ Club has created a digital archive of every issue of Jaguar Driver magazine since the club’s launched the magazine in February 1958.
All 785 magazines, from issue 1 to issue 785, have been scanned and are now online at jaguardriver.co.uk for members to enjoy.
The very first issue had a welcome from the Club’s President and Jaguar founder Sir William Lyons. He congratulated the club on the growth of its membership to 1,500 in such a short time and said, ‘the future prosperity of the Club is assured’.
Sir William added: “The introduction of The Jaguar Driver will do much to provide a closer relationship and interest amongst members all over the world.”
There are only two issues numbers missing – 141 and 142 which never were published due to staff changes within the club at the time.
JDC Chairman Tony Merrygold said: “This has been a mammoth task that has taken years to complete. But it was worth it just for the fantastic resource and additional value it will give to the club and our members.”
Founded in 1956, the Jaguar Drivers’ Club continues to cater for all Jaguar and Daimler motor cars, from the earliest to the most recent.
