JDC introduces 'FactKeep' as new member benefit

Jaguar Drivers’ Club introduces ‘FactKeep’, an AI tool that allows members to unlock years of Jaguar history by simply asking a question.

Following on from the recent digitisation of the entire archive of Jaguar Driver Magazine, the Jaguar Drivers’ Club (JDC) has taken the project a step further with the introduction of ‘FactKeep’, an AI tool that allows members to unlock years of Jaguar history by simply asking a question.

JDC Chairman Tony Merrygold explains: “Using the FactKeep AI technology, every club member can now access the entire archive, transforming seven decades of trusted journalism into an immersive, searchable knowledge base.

“Whether you are researching a specific Jaguar model, revisiting a classic road test, or simply exploring the marque’s rich history, we now offer our members and subscribers unrivalled access to the entire world of Jaguar Driver magazine.”

The JDC is believed to be the first motoring club to introduce this level of technology and innovation to its archive, with Autosport and Lola Cars the only other companies currently adopting the system.

Tony added: “Over the past six months, the Club’s Directors have been evaluating FactKeep, and a User Panel of selected members have helped to test it, one of whom described this as a ‘game changer’.

“The scanned magazines have all been saved onto a secure server and all the information ingested into their system. It works based on a Large Language Model (LLM) and rather than build an old-fashioned index, it has read every word of every article, advert etc and all this content is searchable.

“You just ask it questions in natural English, or French, German, Italian etc and as long as the information has been published in the magazine then the system will find it. FactKeep does not extend its searches out into the wider internet, and nor does it allow external search engines or other AI systems to ‘spider’ our content.”

Members are given the option of two versions of the programme: Fact which is included as standard as part of their annual subscription, or Pro which is a far more detailed version offered for a nominal charge of £29.99 + VAT per annum.

Fact is quick, confident and remarkably knowledgeable; rather like a well-read friend who’s memorised every issue of Jaguar Driver since 1958. Ask a question and Fact will draw on decades of Jaguar Driver content to deliver clear, authoritative answers, up to 250 words in length at a time. It’s ideal for settling ‘varying views’ on a particular Jaguar-related subject matter, refreshing your memory on a long-lost model, or getting the backstory behind a famous event.

For those who want more than a summary, members can upgrade to Pro which unlocks the archive in its fullest sense. Responses stretch up to 1,000 words and, crucially, they don’t just tell you what was printed, they show you where and when it was printed. Every answer is supported by direct references to the original articles, allowing you to open and read the source material exactly as it appeared in Jaguar Driver. Original road tests. Contemporary opinion. Period photography. No reinterpretation, just the original content.

“It’s the difference between hearing about a great drive and sitting in the passenger seat,” Tony adds.

FactKeep is offered alongside a list of discounts and benefits for club members as well as national and regional events, digital newsletters and a monthly magazine.
