JDC looks to the future with new appointment

11 July 2025 | Club News

As the Jaguar Drivers’ Club starts preparing for its 70th anniversary year in 2026, it has taken the important steps of adding a well-known name to its Board of Directors.

Tony Merrygold joins the Board of Directors, having been a member of the Jaguar Drivers’ Club for more than 30 years.  He is best known in Jaguar circles, however, for his six years working as Vehicle Collections Manager of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, which saw him curating the world-famous displays at the Collections Centre at Gaydon.  Prior to working for the JDHT, Tony and his wife ran a Classic Car Hire company for twenty years, have participated in, and organised, car tours within the UK and across Europe and driven his E-type around most of the European Formula 1 circuits.  Tony brings a wealth of Jaguar knowledge and marketing experience to the Board, and is a welcome addition to the team that will be planning next year’s 70th anniversary activities.

Commenting on the Club’s latest appointment, Bryan Mander, Vice-Chairman, said: “Having Tony Merrygold on our Board of Directors  brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Club.”

Meanwhile, this year’s National Weekend takes place over August 2nd-3rd, 2025 at Whittlebury Park, near Towcester, Northamptonshire.  The event will see the Club celebrating 50 years of the Jaguar XJS, plus the launch of the Tony's first new initiative - the Wheel Change Challenge.

There will also be the Club’s Concours competition, with the various winners battling it out for a place at the JDC Champion of Champions final held in September, and the inaugural RIWAX Trophy, for those looking for more of a Pride of Ownership competition rather than concours.

A vast array of Jaguars of all ages will be on display, with the event open to Jaguar Drivers’ Club members and non-members alike. For more details, visit www.jaguardriver.co.uk/events.
