Get ready for the ‘Wheel Change Challenge’, a fun and competitive event designed to test your skills and raise funds for a great cause.
Inspired by the lightning-fast pit stops of Formula 1, the club initially envisioned a challenge to change all four wheels on a Jaguar in a mere 2.4 seconds. However, after careful consideration, and in consultation with Health and Safety advisors, the concept has been reimagined. Instead, participants will take on a more practical task: changing a single wheel—something most drivers are more likely to encounter at the roadside.
To ensure safety and accessibility, the Jaguar Drivers Club has constructed a specially designed frame to securely hold a single wheel and tyre. Participants will need to remove five nuts, take off the wheel, replace it with a spare, and refit the nuts—all while racing against the clock. Whether you prefer the traditional approach of using a standard wheel wrench or want to channel your inner mechanic with a powered Impact Driver, the choice is yours.
This lighthearted yet exhilarating challenge will also serve a charitable purpose. Each attempt costs just £1, with all proceeds going to Headway, the brain injury association, the Jaguar Drivers Club’s chosen charity for this event. So don’t forget to bring plenty of spare change for a good cause!
For those with a competitive streak, times will be recorded on a leaderboard, and a prize will be awarded to the participant with the Fastest Time of the Day. Why not start with the wheel wrench and then see if you can beat your own time using the Impact Driver? Keep an eye on the scoreboard throughout the day—and if someone surpasses your record, you can always have another go to reclaim your title!
The Wheel Change Challenge will be easy to spot, with a highly visible stopwatch timer and the unmistakable sound of clattering Impact Drivers guiding you to the action. Whether you’re a seasoned Jaguar enthusiast or just up for a bit of fun, this is an activity you won’t want to miss.
Join us at Whittlebury Park on 3 August for the National Day—and take on the Wheel Change Challenge for charity, competition, and fun!
