Silverstone Festival promises to be an amazing weekend, and don’t forget that members benefit from a fantastic discount on tickets, and entry for under-16s is free.
Whilst there’s so much to see and do, the highlight for many of us will be the action that takes place on the track across each of the three days.
There are twenty races in all, and there are two in particular that you won’t want to miss - the International Trophy for Pre-’66 Classic GT cars, and the Royal Automobile Club Historic Tourist Trophy for Pre-’63 GT cars. Both will be featuring plenty of E-Types, so be sure to cheer them on!
Away from the on-track competition there’s a huge amount to enjoy, including the thousands of classics that will be on display along with parades that will celebrate a number of marques, models and clubs. For fans of motorsport the Ayrton Senna tribute promises to be very special.
When you’re ready to take a break from cars, younger enthusiasts will no doubt want to explore the fun fair and thrilling rides, which are all free, while the Foodie Fest is a must, too. Highlights for this year include the Silverstone Kitchen Live stage, plus Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm Shop.
If you’re in a buying mood, the Iconic Auctioneers sales is taking place on the Saturday and Sunday. The Collectors’ Car Sale takes place on the first of those days, and any of our members looking for their next Jaguar might just want to take their cheque book!
We’re particularly tempted by a pair of E-Types - a 1972 Series 3 V12 Roadster with a guide price of £35,000 to £45,000, and a 1965 Series 1 4.2 guided at £48,000 to £58,000. There’s also a Lister Jaguar Knobbly that's fully road-registered and ready to enjoy with an estimate of £85,000 - £95,000. More might be added before the show, so keep an eye on the website.
It's going to be a brilliant weekend, so if you’ve not yet bought your tickets don’t delay. Just remember that if you’re bringing your Jaguar, you can park at the in-field in the heart of the event.
