‘New’ Jaguars hitting the road

13 February 2025 | General News

Despite Jaguar officially pulling out of the UK’s new-car market in late 2024 with its withdrawal of all remaining models, January 2025 saw a total of 783 new Jaguars hitting the road – down ‘just’ 41 per cent on the 1331 cars registered in the first month of last year, when the full range was still in production.

The figures, collated by the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT), will come as a surprise to anyone who assumed that all remaining stocks had been registered by the end of 2024. At the time of writing, no brand new Jaguars are listed for sale on AutoTrader, but a number of dealers are selling cars that have been registered in 2025 and still have delivery mileage. These pre-registered examples will have counted towards Jaguar’s new-car ‘sales’ for January.

Available vehicles include a 2025-registered I-Pace EV400 R-Dynamic SE Black priced at £38,995 with Duckworth Jaguar (www.duckworth.co.uk). The same company currently has more than 20 I-Paces available that were registered in late 2024 and which still have only delivery mileage, priced from £38,495, as well as another 30 unused I-Paces registered in 2025.

The new I-Paces registered by Jaguar and dealers will have contributed towards the general jump in electric vehicle sales for January, which saw an increase in volume of 41.6 per cent year-on-year to take 21.3 per cent of the UK market so far this year.

JLR announced in November that it was withdrawing the E-Pace, F-Pace and I-Pace models from UK sale with immediate effect, following the demise of the XE and XF saloon and F-Type sportster last summer. The Solihull-built F-Pace looks set to remain in limited production throughout 2025, however, to ensure that Jaguar dealers in certain export markets – including the US – continue to have new Jaguars available prior to the launch of the brand’s all-electric next-generation line-up.
