The nights may be drawing in but the event calendar shows no sign of letting up yet as there are still plenty of chances to get out and about in your Jaguar.
This Saturday (5th), we are partnering with Jaguar Breakfast Club to hold a joint breakfast meeting at the Great British Car Journey in Ambergate, Derbyshire. Rediscover the cars you grew up with, the cars your parents, your uncles, even your grandparents drove on this interactive journey through the history of the British car industry. Follow the path from the earliest four-wheeled transport to the most iconic of British cars – the Delorean, the Mini and, of course, the E-Type, the exotic and the mundane, with memorabilia, posters, advertising and every element of motoring nostalgia. Home to more than 200 classic British cars, many on display and some available to drive, every vehicle has a story to tell.
Our Scottish friends have a couple of busy weekends this month. Area 55 (Scotland North) will be attending the family friendly Fyvie Castle Classic Car Show on Sunday 6th and then the JDC Family Fun Day at the Grampian Transport Museum on Saturday 12th September. This is a great family friendly location with a wonderful museum, the obligatory coffee and bacon rolls and the opportunity to drive round their track. It's then onto the Wheels of Nairn Vehicle Show on Saturday 19th.
Area 47 (Anglesey & North Wales) is hosting a scenic drive and luncheon at Deganwy Quays Hotel on Sunday 13th, while Area 10 (Scotland South) will be attending Knockhill Car Show and Track Day.
We continue to celebrate our 70th year with a very special display of JDC Champion Trophy Winners at Jaguars at Gaydon on Sunday 27th September. For the first time we will display a collection of previous Champion of Champions trophy winners. Each car will have won either the Harold Mayer Endeavour, Champion of Champions or both trophies. The returning trophy winners will replace the Champion of Champions competition for this year with its return in 2027.
We have added even more content to our online archive of our Publication Library which now includes JDC Event Programmes, Racing Programmes, XK Event Programmes and the XK Register Bulletin along with past issues of Jaguar Driver magazine and the Driving Notes Newsletter. We hope to keep building on this to create excellent added value for members.
