Catering for replicas of C- and D-Type, and sporting Jaguars and specials using Jaguar components
The brainchild of the late Ron Lea, well known for his motorsport activities, this Register was formed in 1995 to cater for a growing band of members with a passion for Jaguar specials and replicas. At that time, the interest was largely in replica C-Types and D-Types but, in the intervening years, the Register has grown to accommodate a range of cars, some built from kits and others assembled from the ground up. These include XJ13s, E-Types, XK 120s, 140s and 150s and SS100s. For the specials, Ronarts and Kougars are among the better-known models but the Register also caters for a range of one-off Jaguar-based vehicles.
Register members are a fairly active group and can be found, albeit in small numbers, at most Club gatherings. There are two cars taking part in the Club’s sprint and hillclimb championship and we tend to support many of the Club’s driving events rather than static displays. It is not unusual to find a good number of Register cars at the Silverstone Classic in July, the E-Type Register’s Day at Prescott Hill Climb in June and, of course, at Le Mans Classic every other year.
The Register can supply technical support for anyone building a replica or special and we can also help to source parts. If you get stuck on your build, it’s often possible to put you in touch with someone who has solved similar problems in the past.
