The SS Register

The SS Register was formed in 1961 with two aims. The first is to keep track of all known SS, SS Jaguar and Jaguar cars manufactured from 1931 to 1952, apart from XK120s and Mk VIIs, and to keep a record of all these cars worldwide and to ensure that it contains the maximum number of, and the most accurate data about, all surviving cars. The records held by the JDC have been augmented by listings from the USA, Australia, Austria, New Zealand and Switzerland. This has expanded the numbers in the database to around 2800 and in May 2020.

The Register’s second aim is to provide a range of services to owners of the above cars. These include social events such as monthly meetings, an annual day, special visits, weekend breaks and full tours. These enable members to exchange knowledge about the cars, while enhancing their enjoyment of ownership and giving them access to a broad range of spares, technical advice and assistance.

The Register is run by a committee with wide-ranging knowledge and expertise to meet the needs of most owners. We would like to identify at least one Register member (who need not necessarily be on the committee) whom owners can approach for technical advice on each of the model types.
